SAT SAT Armed with audio recorders Diptee, Olya, Lynda, Sally and SAT Nikki tape their journey: from shopping trips for disposable SAT knickers and maternity towels, to the moment they wonder SAT whether it's started, whether this is it... to the peak of SAT their labours. Deliverance bravely bares all from pregnancy SAT to birth, and Lemn's dialogue with the women reveals how, SAT through the process, not only is a new child born but a new SAT woman. SAT SAT Lemn was without his birth family until he was 21. Since SAT then he can count on two hands the number of times he's met SAT his mother. He realizes that the nine months he spent in her SAT womb are the only time they were truly connected. Yet only SAT his mother has the memory of it. SAT SAT Pregnancy's ordinary, yet mysterious. Yet SAT five women nearing childbirth from as far afield as Russia, SAT Bangladesh and Manchester reveal what many are too fearful SAT to admit to. SAT SAT We hear Nikki, a surrogate mother determined not to bond SAT with her baby. Sally weeps quietly in fear at 4am; Olya, SAT just 25, considers which country to bring her child up in. THU THU Jacquet de La Guerre had apartments on the Ile Saint Louis, THU where she would hold regular musical gatherings for THU discerning patrons. In 1707 she published a set of violin sonatas, THU which she dedicated to the Sun King, Louis XIV. It was THU around this period that another patron came into her life; THU The Elector of Bavaria, Maximilian II, had taken asylum just THU outside Paris. Jacquet de La Guerre socialised with THU Maximilian, sometimes performing music together. She THU dedicated her third book of cantatas to him, which includes THU Le Sommeil d'Ulisse. Each of these women THU overcame societal expectations or personal adversity to have THU real influence on the music of their day, and subsequently THU ours. THU THU We tend to remember William Ewart Gladstone as a reformer THU who wanted to pacify Ireland. We know that Queen Victoria THU preferred Disraeli's flattery to Gladstone's earnest THU lectures. And we've heard that this long-serving Prime THU Minister relaxed by cutting down trees on the Hawarden THU estate. What we don't imagine about this Grand Old Man is THU his sensuality. In fact, W.E.
