SAT
Istanbul is a European Capital of Culture for 2010 and MosheSAT
Morad continues his search for traditional music in thisSAT
melting-pot of peoples and cultures. Including a sessionSAT
recorded at Istanbul's most iconic music venue, Babylon,SAT
with one of Turkey's most important Kurdish voices, Aynur.SAT
Plus a session with the virtuosic multi-instrumentalistSAT
Erkan Ogur, and a visit to the Aegean city of Izmir, theSAT
birth-place of Rembetiko. Producer James Parkin. 2/2SAT
SAT
Istanbul is a rich and diverse meeting point for musiciansSAT
in Turkey, and it's a city where you can find every type ofSAT
Turkish traditional music represented. It's also aSAT
cross-roads between Europe and Asia, East and West. InSAT
World Routes in Istanbul, Moshe Morad explores this richSAT
mix and records sessions with many of Turkey's topSAT
musicians - from the country's most famous Kurdish voiceSAT
(Aynur), and the sublime guitar playing of Erkan Ogur, toSAT
the wonderful sound of oud and kamanche with Yurdal TokcanSAT
and Derya Turkan. Moshe learns about some of Turkey'sSAT
best-loved traditional instruments such as the kamanche andSAT
the saz, hears the stories behind the music, and finds outSAT
from the people who live there what Istanbul means to them.SAT
Amongst them, he meets record executive Hasan Saltik, whoSAT
set-up and runs the Kalan label, and who was sent to jailSAT
on more than one occasion for his love of minority musics.SAT
Moshe also travels the short distance to the Aegean coastSAT
where he records one type of music that has stayed in itsSAT
original home rather than emigrate to Istanbul: Rembetiko.SAT

Live from the Met, Strauss' Ariadne Auf NaxosSAT
SAT
Live from the Metropolitan Opera in New York. Greek tragedySAT
collides with the mischief-making of the commedia dell'arteSAT
in Richard Strauss's opera-within-an-opera Ariadne aufSAT
Naxos, conceived in collaboration with the librettist HugoSAT
von Hofmannsthal. The fabulous Swedish soprano Nina StemmeSAT
takes the title role, with Kathleen Kim as theSAT
ever-pragmatic Zerbinetta, and Sarah Connolly as the naiveSAT
young Composer. Strauss's music combines pathos and wit inSAT
this inventive piece.SAT
SAT
At the house of a Viennese nobleman, a new opera 'AriadneSAT
auf Naxos' is to be performed, followed by an ItalianSAT
comedy, but it is announced that both plays will have to beSAT
performed simultaneously due to time restrictions.SAT
SAT
In the opera itself, Ariadne has been abandoned on theSAT
island of Naxos by Theseus. She longs for death, butSAT
Zerbinetta tries to persuade her to replace her love forSAT
Theseus with another, as it is only human to change an oldSAT
love for a new one.SAT

The Elizabethan Stage JigSUN
SUN
Lucie Skeaping explores the often forgotten world of theSUN
Elizabethan stage jig - a popular form of bawdy musicalSUN
comedy from the 16th and 17th century.SUN
SUN
The crowds who flocked to the London playhouses in the lateSUN
16th and early 17th century expected to be amused andSUN
amazed. Mostly, they got their money's worth because notSUN
only could they see a drama, a comedy or some greatSUN
tragedy, but if they stayed on after the play had ended,SUN
they would also be treated to a short farce - a rude, lewdSUN
and outrageous musical entertainment known as a jig.SUN

Beethoven: Symphony No 3 (Eroica)SUN
SUN
Stephen Johnson presents a programme exploring Beethoven'sSUN
Third Symphony in E flat major, the Eroica. It is wellSUN
known that Beethoven intended to dedicate the symphony toSUN
Napoleon, but when Napoleon had himself crowned Emperor inSUN
1804, Beethoven angrily scratched out this dedication andSUN
the symphony was then titled the 'Heroic' symphony. StephenSUN
Johnson considers this theme of 'heroism' in the work,SUN
illustrated with examples and a complete performance of theSUN
symphony by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales conductedSUN
by Christophe Mangou.SUN

WH Auden's rich contribution to classical music is justlySUN

From Gameboy to ArmageddonSUN
SUN
War games are as old as military history but something hasSUN
begun to change as war and play converge to create whatSUN
some call the 'military entertainment complex'. KenSUN
Hollings pushes the button on this latest phenomenon.SUN
SUN
Men have always played at and with soldiers. Gaming has beenSUN
an essential part of warfare and by the 19th Century it hadSUN
been developed into the sophisticated Kriegspiel, derivedSUN
from the still influential theories of Von Clausewitz andSUN
played at military colleges in both Europe and America.SUN
These war games then became real games for table-topSUN
strategists by the early 20th Century. A remarkable synergySUN
developed between colleges of war and devisers of suchSUN
games, particularly in America. And in the think tanks ofSUN
the RAND Corp gaming theory was used intensively to plotSUN
the future of war and nuclear destruction.SUN
SUN
But from the late 1970s computer strategy games started toSUN
form a powerful loop between gamers and warriors. With theSUN
creation of the SIMNET, the military began to developSUN
hugely powerful simulators and now convergence is takingSUN
place between military and the entertainment industry. SomeSUN
say we are living in what Stanford Professor Tim Lenoir hasSUN
called 'the military entertainment complex', with militarySUN
functions increasingly taking place online, usingSUN
simulation for training and in the treatment of soldiersSUN
suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. But is thisSUN
new realm of war truly a revolution - the shape of thingsSUN
to come - or just more virtual bangs for real bucks?SUN

InsectsSUN
SUN
Producer's NoteSUN
SUN
Insects are a gift to composers, not only because they evokeSUN
such strong emotions in humans, but because they are oftenSUN
musicians themselves. Josquin’s El grillo e buon cantoreSUN
mimics the sound of a cricket singing in the summer, whileSUN
Schubert’s Der Einsame (The Lonely) concerns the melancholySUN
of a cricket, sitting on a hearth, mourning theSUN
disappearance of the summer.SUN
SUN
The image of butterflies floating across the air is capturedSUN
by Schumann’s Les Papillons, and The Flight of theSUN
Bumblebee follows the erratic path of a charging pollenSUN
gatherer. However, insects can also cause us intenseSUN
discomfort, reflected in Simpson’s String Quartet No 8,SUN
which is about the movements of a mosquito and was writtenSUN
for an entomologist, and From The Diary of a Fly by BelaSUN
Bartok. DH Lawrence’s poem Mosquito and Robert Burn’s To ASUN
Louse demonstrate just how irritating yet compelling pestsSUN
can be!SUN
SUN
And despite little attention being directed towards theSUN
invertebrate world, we depend on the honeybee for one ofSUN
the most delicious foods. She appears at the end of theSUN
programme, with Virgil’s ancient appreciation of theSUN
sophistication and mystery of these tiny animals.SUN

Jerry BergonziSUN
SUN
Jazz Line-Up, presented by Claire Martin, featuresSUN
international Saxophonist, educator, composer and arrangerSUN
Jerry Bergonzi, who has a CV that boasts just about everySUN
jazz icon there is. Born in Boston, Massachusetts, BergonziSUN
became interested in music early on. He started playingSUN
clarinet when he was eight years old listening to DukeSUN
Ellington, Count Basie, and Lester Young. His uncle, whoSUN
was a jazz musician and lived upstairs, used to write outSUN
solos for him to play. At twelve years old he got his firstSUN
saxophone, an old Conn alto, and a year later when a friendSUN
introduced him to Miles, Coltrane, and Sonny Rollins, thereSUN
was no turning back.SUN
SUN
On this set, at the Jazz Bar in Edinburgh, he is with withSUN
Boston bassist Dave Santoro, and Paris-based, ItalianSUN
drummer Andrea Michelutti. However Bergonzi during this setSUN
doubles on piano during the drum breaks. Jerry has writtenSUN
countless books on sax technique and improvisation, and hasSUN
a huge discography. The late, great Michael Brecker wasSUN
once asked 'What does it feel like to be the world'sSUN
greatest sax player?', to which he replied 'I don't know,SUN
you'll have to ask Jerry Bergonzi!' Brecker was a long-termSUN
student of 'The Gonz'.SUN

Leos Janacek (1854-1928), Episode 1MON
MON
Forget pipe and slippers. In 1924, Leos Janacek (1854-1928)MON
careened into his eighth and final decade with an almostMON
rock star-like abandon: sleepwalking through his ownMON
personal erotic fantasy as his personal life crashedMON
catastrophically around him. His was in love: infatuated toMON
the point of madness with a woman nearly four decadesMON
younger, the very much married Mrs Kamila Stösslová.MON
MON
Meanwhile, as his long-suffering wife endured almostMON
unbearable torrents of gossip, insults and casual misogynyMON
(can you believe I wrote this piece with such a stupidMON
wife!, he quipped to a group of admirers one evening), theMON
composer almost blithely tossed off a series ofMON
career-defining masterpieces - all written at breathtaking,MON
almost breakneck speed.MON
MON
This week, Donald Macleod explores the brilliant,MON
tempestuous last five years of classical music'sMON
'anti-prodigy' - the seventysomething whose obsessive loveMON
inspired him to create some of the finest works of the 20thMON
century. We'll hear a near-comprehensive list of Janacek'sMON
final works: from the astonishing Sinfonietta andMON
Glagolitic Mass, written just months apart, to extendedMON
excerpts from Janacek's last great trio of operas: TheMON
Cunning Little Vixen, The Makropoulos Affair and FromMON
The House Of The Dead.MON
MON
We'll also hear both of Janacek's String Quartets - eachMON
intimately related to his illicit relationship with KamilaMON
- as well as concerti for violin and piano, and surely oneMON
of the strangest pieces in all classical music: hisMON
Capriccio for left hand piano, trumpets, trombones, tubaMON
and flute.MON
MON
To begin the series, Donald Macleod catches up with JanacekMON
in his 70th birthday year - a period when the composer wasMON
well on the way to emotional ruin.MON

BBC National Orchestra of Wales - Musical Firsts, Episode 1MON
MON
Penny Gore presents a week of programmes reflecting onMON
musical firsts featuring the BBC National Orchestra ofMON
Wales.MON
MON
Penny opens with a concert given last month at BBC HoddinottMON
Hall in Cardiff, home of the BBC National Orchestra ofMON
Wales, the first of a season looking back on past premieresMON
and BBC commissions. Principal Guest conductor Jac vanMON
Steen conducts two orchestral masterpieces from twentiethMON
century Russia, and David Matthews joins Penny live in theMON
studio to introduce his cello concerto, Concerto inMON
Azzurro. It was premiered by this orchestra in 2002, andMON
here receives its first performance in Wales, with theMON
exciting young soloist Guy Johnston, himself a past BBCMON
Young Musician of the Year.MON
MON
David also talks to Penny about his 6th symphony, heard hereMON
for the first time in a brand new recording. The symphonyMON
was premiered at the Proms in 2007 to great criticalMON
acclaim, and takes its theme from Vaughan Williams hymnMON
tune Down Ampney - often sung to the words Come down, OMON
love divine. The same hymn tune also underpins a new workMON
from Australian composer Paul Stanhope, which received itsMON
UK premiere with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales at theMON
Vale of Glamorgan Festival in 2009. These two works fromMON
different sides of the world are joined together by aMON
performance of Vaughan Williams own Fantasia on a theme byMON
Thomas Tallis, given in the building for which it wasMON
written, Gloucester Cathedral.MON

Central Europe's essential spirit courses through the veinsMON
of this evening's concert, with two great Czech composers,MON
Janacek and Martinu, framing a Czech-born composer,MON
Korngold, who ended up in Hollywood. The orchestral SuiteMON
from Janacek's opera Katya Kabanova , arranged by anotherMON
Czech composer Jaroslav Smolka, here receives its worldMON
premiere performance. Old Vienna and the music of 1930sMON
Hollywood combine in tuneful pomp in Korngold's ViolinMON
Concerto. Tonight's soloist is one of the BBC SO's twoMON
Leaders, Andrew Haveron. And the concert ends with theMON
irresistible lyricism of Martin?'s Fourth Symphony (alsoMON
written in the USA, in 1945).MON
(This is the first of three concerts this week featuringMON
Czech composers. There's more Janacek on Wednesday, andMON
Dvorak on Thursday).MON

Work-Life Balance, Episode 1MON
MON
We talk now of a 'work/life balance', as though 'work' isMON
something quite separate from 'life' and the meaning ofMON
both is self-evident. How have we arrived at such a way ofMON
thinking? It's hard to find answers because, while there isMON
endless newspaper coverage of the issue, no history of theMON
work/life balance exists. Especially for The Essay,MON
Professor Hugh Cunningham explores the place that work hasMON
played in British lives from proto-industrialism in theMON
C18th to post-industrialism in the C21st through five vividMON
chronological snapshots. Each tells the story of aMON
particular period while shedding new light on aMON
contemporary juggling act that causes great stress to manyMON
if not most people in our societyMON
MON
Throughout the series Hugh Cunningham returns to two themes:MON
the impact of contemporary consumerism on our working livesMON
and the difference between the work/leisure balance of theMON
past - when the work-force was mainly male- and theMON
so-called work/life balance of today - with women mostMON
taking the strain.MON
MON
In Episode One, Hugh Cunningham looks at the transition fromMON
the so-called leisure preference of the 18th century,MON
when many people worked only long enough to provideMON
themselves with their basic needs and otherwise opted forMON
leisure, to the the long hours we associate with everydayMON
life during the Industrial Revolution.MON

Mary Halvorson. Playing original compositions that featureMON

MON
Mary has been active on the New York jazz scene since 2002.MON
She plays regularly with the infamous avant-garde reedsmanMON
and composer Anthony Braxton and released her debutMON
recording as leader in 2008. The album was proclaimed 'anMON
auspicious debut' by Downbeat and full of tension,MON

charming melodies inspired by a spring spent in the idyllicTUE

TUE
A quartet of works all influenced by the sea opens today'sTUE
programme. Sneaker Wave was written for the 2004 Proms byTUE
Joby Talbot, who is also a distinguished writer of film andTUE
TV scores, as well as arranging for pop musicians from UteTUE
Lemper to Tom Jones. Joby brings the full force of theTUE
orchestra crashing down to portray this massive wall ofTUE
water, including, in this performance, the mighty AlbertTUE
Hall organ.TUE
TUE
Welsh composer Grace Williams made her home on the coast,TUE
just outside Cardiff, overlooking the Bristol Channel. HerTUE
evocative Sea Sketches were premiered in 1947 at the BBCTUE
studios in Cardiff, and have become a familiar favourite ofTUE
Welsh orchestral music ever since.TUE
TUE
Michael Berkeley first heard the haunting sound of whalesTUE
singing as they bubble net as part of a Radio 4 programmeTUE
World on the Move. This unique song moved him toTUE
incorporate a recording in his recent commission for BBCTUE
NOW - Gabriel's Lament. Today Penny also hears from theTUE
producer, Joe Stevens, about this remarkable underwaterTUE
vocal talent.TUE
TUE
Julian Philips wrote his seascape for the orchestra a decadeTUE
ago, and it was soon championed by the BBC NationalTUE
Orchestra of Wales.TUE
TUE
Afternoon on 3 closes with a concert featuring the firstTUE
broadcast of Taliesin, the final work composed by AlunTUE
Hoddinott, who for over half a century was at the heart ofTUE
Welsh musical life. Penny is joined by Swansea FestivalTUE
director Huw Tregelles Williams, to hear about the newTUE
piece, the composer and this remarkable concert from theTUE
2009 festival, featuring the orchestra's Associate GuestTUE

The Variations on an Original Theme, commonly known as TheTUE
Enigma Variations, is a brilliantly varied portraitTUE
gallery of Elgar's friends, family and neighbours. TheyTUE
contain some of the most charming and deeply felt musicTUE
Elgar ever penned, though the theme itself remains anTUE
enigma.TUE
Barber's gloriously lyrical violin concerto is frequentlyTUE
cited as a sort of turning point in Barber's output, a workTUE
whose first two movements reflect the ingratiatingTUE
melodic-romantic style of his earlier compositions, andTUE
whose finale represents the first intimations of a new andTUE
tightened approach - leaner and somewhat more austere.TUE
From the beginning, Brahms' Third Symphony has proven to beTUE
his most evocative. With numerous acknowledgments to WagnerTUE
and allusions to the same Rhine-based mythology, itTUE
provides other fascinations as well, including a MinuetTUE
that is more funereal than dance-like, and a quietlyTUE
mysterious theme heard all too briefly in the secondTUE
movement, which returns in the finale to assumesTUE
unexpectedly heroic dimensions.TUE

Work-Life Balance, Episode 2TUE
TUE
We talk now of a 'work/life balance', as though 'work' isTUE
something quite separate from 'life' and the meaning ofTUE
both is self-evident. How have we arrived at such a way ofTUE
thinking? It's hard to find answers because, while there isTUE
endless newspaper coverage of the issue, no history of theTUE
work/life balance exists. Especially for The Essay,TUE
Professor Hugh Cunningham explores the place that work hasTUE
played in British lives from proto-industrialism in theTUE
C18th to post-industrialism in the C21st through five vividTUE
chronological snapshots. Each tells the story of aTUE
particular period while shedding new light on aTUE
contemporary juggling act that causes great stress to manyTUE
if not most people in our societyTUE
TUE
Throughout the series Hugh Cunningham returns to two themes:TUE
the impact of contemporary consumerism on our working livesTUE
and the difference between the work/leisure balance of theTUE
past - when the work-force was mainly male- and theTUE
so-called work/life balance of today - with women mostTUE
taking the strain.TUE
TUE
In Episode Two, Hugh Cunningham looks at the battle - longTUE
fought but ultimately won - for leisure during theTUE
industrial revolution.TUE

Josef Suk's massive Asrael Symphony has a tragic backstory.WED
Suk was a protégé of Dvorak, and when the celebrated olderWED
composer died in 1904 Suk, was shaken to the core. HisWED
immediate response was creative: he wrote three movementsWED
of a symphony, producing long, Dvorákian, lyrical themesWED
intensified by his own yearning chromatic harmonies. But aWED
year later, Asrael, the 'Angel of Death' visited Suk onceWED
more: it took his wife, Otylka. Suk was distraught. But heWED
pushed on. He fashioned two final movements as a memorialWED
to her; after a furious scherzo the yearning had turned toWED
resolution as Suk found comfort in the transcendental andWED
uplifting renewal of the natural world.WED

cells and is a resident researcher in St Bart's Hospital,WED
London. But as someone who operates at the front line ofWED
the fight against cancer are the military metaphors weWED
habitually use appropriate when one is trying to save theWED
body from its own cells. Indeed, the public understandingWED
of disease and of science more generally is high on herWED
list of priorities. She has published a number of booksWED
about science for children and was given the Royal SocietyWED
Michael Faraday prize for her 'outstanding work inWED
communicating the concepts, facts and fascination ofWED
science'. Her work is not confined to this country butWED
includes 'You, Me and HIV, a book for young people inWED
Sub-Saharan Africa, were she also works to help mitigateWED
the effects of HIV aids.WED
Philip Dodd talks to Prof Balkwill about the politics ofWED
cancer, the nature of scientific co-operation, the idea ofWED

Work-Life Balance, Episode 3WED
WED
We talk now of a 'work/life balance', as though 'work' isWED
something quite separate from 'life' and the meaning ofWED
both is self-evident. How have we arrived at such a way ofWED
thinking? It's hard to find answers because, while there isWED
endless newspaper coverage of the issue, no history of theWED
work/life balance exists. Especially for The Essay,WED
Professor Hugh Cunningham explores the place that work hasWED
played in British lives from proto-industrialism in theWED
C18th to post-industrialism in the C21st through five vividWED
chronological snapshots. Each tells the story of aWED
particular period while shedding new light on aWED
contemporary juggling act that causes great stress to manyWED
if not most people in our societyWED
WED
Throughout the series Hugh Cunningham returns to two themes:WED
the impact of contemporary consumerism on our working livesWED
and the difference between the work/leisure balance of theWED
past - when the work-force was mainly male - and theWED
so-called work/life balance of today - with women mostWED
taking the strain.WED
WED
In Episode Three, Hugh Cunningham tells the story of how theWED
burgeoning Leisure Class spent their time in VictorianWED
Britain, while the Middle Class so-called brain workersWED
began to experience a level of stress in their lives withWED
which many of us can identify todayWED

BBC National Orchestra of Wales - Musical Firsts, Episode 4THU
THU
Penny Gore presents a week of programmes reflecting onTHU
musical firsts featuring the BBC National Orchestra ofTHU
Wales.THU
THU
Today Penny introduces a brand new recording of ArthurTHU
Sullivan's 'Ivanhoe' - arguably the most important BritishTHU
opera from the nineteenth century. Based on the novel byTHU
Sir Walter Scott, dedicated to Queen Victoria - and writtenTHU
at her suggestion - Ivanhoe opened at the Royal EnglishTHU
Opera House in January 1891 and ran for 155 consecutiveTHU
performances. Since when its popularity has been somewhatTHU
less extravagant. When the performing materials wereTHU
destroyed by fire in 1964, its fate seemed sealed.THU
THU
Thanks largely to the indefatigable effort and boundlessTHU
energy of the late Richard Hickox, a new recording has nowTHU
been made of this legendary opera, a co-production betweenTHU
BBC Radio 3 and Chandos Records. With a young and starryTHU
cast of British opera talent, this tale of knights inTHU
shining armour, forbidden love and medieval merrymaking canTHU
finally be heard once again.THU

Free Thinking - Sarah HallTHU
THU
The damaging flooding of Cumbrian towns and landscapes hasTHU
been a repeated crisis in recent years. It's a topic thatTHU
pre-occupies the Cumbrian writer Sarah Hall, who is beingTHU
tipped as one of the most interesting up and comingTHU
novelists of her generation. She was long-listed for theTHU
Man Booker Prize last year for her latest novel about theTHU
creative process and the human condition, How to Paint aTHU
Dead Man. Her previous books The Electric Michelangelo -THU
about a tattoo artist - and The Carhullan Army - about aTHU
flooded post-apocalyptic Britain - have both been multiTHU
prize-winning successes and gained her internationalTHU
critical acclaim as one of British fiction's most vibrantTHU
new voices.THU
THU
As part of Radio 3's Free Thinking festival of ideas at theTHU
Sage Gateshead, she talks to Ian McMillan about the sourcesTHU
of her work, including the native Cumbrian landscape whereTHU
her work is often set, and her interest in the visual artsTHU
- from painting to tattoos. And she meets members of NewTHU
Writing North's network of book clubs in a wide ranging andTHU
lively conversation about her novels. .THU

Work-Life Balance, Episode 5FRI
FRI
We talk now of a 'work/life balance', as though 'work' isFRI
something quite separate from 'life' and the meaning ofFRI
both is self-evident. How have we arrived at such a way ofFRI
thinking? It's hard to find answers because, while there isFRI
endless newspaper coverage of the issue, no history of theFRI
work/life balance exists. Especially for The Essay,FRI
Professor Hugh Cunningham explores the place that work hasFRI
played in British lives from proto-industrialism in theFRI
C18th to post-industrialism in the C21st through five vividFRI
chronological snapshots. Each tells the story of aFRI
particular period while shedding new light on aFRI
contemporary juggling act that causes great stress to many,FRI
if not most, people in our society.FRI
FRI
Throughout the series Hugh Cunningham returns to two themes:FRI
the impact of contemporary consumerism on our working livesFRI
and the difference between the work/leisure balance of theFRI
past - when the work-force was mainly male- and theFRI
so-called work/life balance of today - with women mostFRI
taking the strain.FRI
FRI
In Episode five, Hugh Cunningham argues that men haveFRI
largely won their historic battle for a balance betweenFRI
work and leisure but that the oddly-named balance betweenFRI
work and life has still to be won by most women.FRI

23:15 World on 3 b00qtnc3 (Listen)FRI
Mary Ann Kennedy introduces a special programme from ArdgourFRI
in Scotland's Western Highlands, with sessions from twoFRI
generations of Scottish musicians: Sandy Wright, a veteranFRI
singer who is now being acclaimed as the country's 'finestFRI
undiscovered songwriter', and The Bevvy Sisters, fronted byFRI
three Edinburgh singers who share a passion for Americana,FRI
vintage rarities and original songwriting.FRI
FRI
Radio 3 launches a week-long focus on Scotland today, andFRI
this World on 3 comes from Mary Ann's own studio at home onFRI
the shores of Loch Linnhe.FRI
FRI
This month sees the release of a major double albumFRI
featuring the songs of Sandy Wright - one CD is his soloFRI
debut with his band The Toxic Cowboys, and the second is aFRI
tribute by major artists of the younger generation, withFRI
Sandy's songs recorded by Eddi Reader, Chris Wood, KrisFRI
Drever, Karine Polwart and others. In his 60th year, afterFRI
a colourful career which included years in the army andFRI
working as a clown, maybe it is time for Sandy to get theFRI
recognition many think he deserves.FRI
FRI
Heather Macleod, Kaela Rowan and Lindsey Black are allFRI
established singers in their own right, coming togetherFRI
occasionally as The Bevvy Sisters, singing tight,FRI
three-part harmony songs from the days of the AndrewsFRI
Sisters, as well as contemporary self-penned songs. TheirFRI
debut album was released at the end of January.FRI
